OUR SERVICES
KTMB MMC Cargo acts as a carrier/ freight forwarder. Our customers who book our services consist of shipping lines, shippers (exporters), importers, freight forwarders, and trucking companies as well.
They will place a train booking to KTMB MMC Cargo (“KMC”) via email. The rail freight is based on the official quotation issued to them by KMC.
The train booking will have info/ details of the shipment as follows:
1) Estimated train departure time requested (Train ETD) and estimated time of arrival (ETA)
2) Vessel closing time at the loading port (for export shipment)
3) Vessel arrival at port (for import containers)
4) Number of containers
5) Type of containers (20’ or 40’ size)
6) Type of cargo
KMC will charter a locomotive and a minimum of 30 units of Boogie Container Flat (BCF) rail wagons from KTMB.
Containers will be loaded onto these 30 BCF rail wagons by using lifting equipment that we called a “Container Reach Stacker” (CRS).
All the above-mentioned containers are trucked by the shipper/ manufacturer/ exporter from the factory to the rail yard.
For Import containers discharged from the vessel to the port’s container yard, they will be lifted onto the truck using Rubber Gantry Crane at the Container yard. These containers then will be trucked to the rail yard inside the port for loading onto rail wagons.
